Process for Non-GT Faculty, Staff and Students to be Added to a Georgia Tech Study

Researchers from outside the Georgia Institute of Technology will need to establish a Georgia Tech IRBWISE profile and, in some cases, a user account. If you need access to edit the protocol, then a separate user account is needed to access IRBWISE.

Requests for both an IRBWISE profile and an account should be directed to the Office of Research Integrity Assurance by sending an email request to this address.

Include the following in your request:

  1. Your full name
  2. Email address
  3. Telephone number
  4. University/Company affiliation
  5. CITI Certification
  6. An explanation of how will you be involved/engaged in the research (e.g., consenting participants, interacting with participants, collecting data, accessing identifiable data, etc.).

After the request has been approved, Georgia Tech’s Office of Research Integrity Assurance will send you an email containing your new Georgia Tech IRBWISE account information.

Please note that adding non-GT personnel to a GT study may require an IRB Authorization Agreement with the other institution. You are encouraged to refer to the IRB Deferrals (Reliance Agreements) guidance page for more details.

Process for Conducting Non-GT Research on the GT Campus

IRB-approved research from universities other than Georgia Institute of Technology can take place on campus. However, prior to conducting the non-GT research on the GT campus, you must first obtain approval from the Office of Research Integrity Assurance by sending an email request to this address.

Include the following in your request:

  1. Your full name
  2. The name of the institution that you are representing
  3. A description of the study
  4. A description of how you plan to recruit on campus
  5. A copy of the IRB approval letter from your institution
  6. A copy of the IRB approved consent form being used in your study

After the request has been approved, Georgia Tech’s Office of Research Integrity Assurance will send you an email stating that you are approved to conduct your study on the GT campus.
